Mary Rodgers studied Fine Art & Textiles at High Wycombe College of Art & Design then worked for major British companies Sandersons, Viyella and Courtaulds designing printed textiles. She set up her independent design studio and consultancy in London and undertook commissions in across Europe and Scandinavia.

Mary moved to Leicestershire in the 1970s where she soon built a reputation for her light-filled landscapes and acclaimed paintings of gardens and flowers. Mary's exhibitions in France and Italy were the result of travelling and painting in Europe. In 2000 she set up her own teaching studio in East Langton where she tutored both adults and children. She has acted in organisational roles for visual arts in the area, as Chair of Leicester Society of Artists and Area Organiser for Northampton Open Studios.  Mary Rodgers contributed to a series of books published by International Artist magazine and has published articles in The Artist.

Mary recently moved to the pretty village of Wing in Rutland, which allows her to spend more time painting in her studio.

Mary Rodgers' paintings can be found in the Albany Gallery, Cardiff, the Smith Elliot Association, Oakham, Quinns Gallery, Market Harborough and the Cank Street Gallery Leicester and in Gallery Stamford, Stamford, Lincolnshire
