General Information about applying for membership
You may apply for membership of LSA if you live, work or study in Leicester, Leicestershire or Rutland, or if you have strong connections to the area.
A short application form will appear on this page when applications next open, together with a deadline for applying online and the date for Applications Day.
On Applications Day, you will be required to submit FOUR ORIGINAL WORKS in support of your application for membership, which will be considered by the LSA Council. These FOUR works must be of an equally high standard, and be well presented, suitable for an exhibition. They must have been created within the last three years. Reproductions may not be substituted for the original works.
We accept paintings, drawings, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, glass, ceramics, textiles, photography and most other media. Video works are not accepted as we cannot to show these in our exhibitions.
As well as your four original works, you may also submit a sketchbook (optional), a short CV and/or an artist's statement (optional) and up to four preliminary studies (optional).
