An exhibition of figurative paintings
Drawing inspiration from the great masters before him, Mark Hancock names Rembrandt and Caravaggio among his favourites, these careful studies are firmly placed in the classical genre. You can feel the concentration of the artist in the brushstrokes. Time has been taken and there is focused stillness in his work.
Mark studied fine art at Canterbury College of Art. Following a career teaching art, he studied for an MA at Middlesex University and, thereafter, has been pursuing his practice full-time.
