Gillian Adair McFarland has won a new Arts Council grant for her 'Creativity & Curiosity' project. Arts Council England announced on 12th July that 103 artists across England were awarded funding in Round 1 of 'Developing Your Artistic Practice'. This new fund has been designed by the Arts Council to support independent creative practitioners, to ensure excellence is thriving in the arts and culture sector and to create more pathways for individuals. She is the only artist in Leicester to secure this award.

Gillian's project 'Creativity and Curiosity' is based on research and conversations between artists and astronomers.  "I am being funded to research the archives at the Royal Astronomical Society's Library, The Royal Observatory, Greenwich and the Science Museum, London", she says.

Gillian Adair McFarland's work from this project will be included in the British Council tour of artwork to the Berlin Festival in November 2018, then in India in 2019.
