RA Summer Exhibition 2023


The Summer Exhibition is the Royal Academy's annual celebration of art and artists, run without interruption since 1769. Anyone can submit their work and – if your work is selected by its panel of artists – it will go on display in the Main Galleries at the Royal Academy at Burlington House, London.

Each year, a different committee of artists and architects select over 1,000 works for display.This year, the committee is led by the celebrated British painter, David Remfry and includes, Peter Barber, Eileen Cooper, Bill Jacklin, Katherine Jones, Tim Shaw and Clare Woods.

The theme is Only Connect -  which can be “as simple or as complex as you like,” co-ordinator David Remfry says, “as simple as putting a plug into a socket, as meeting a friend for a coffee or the fabric of the entire cosmos”.

Deadline for entries - 23:59 (GMT) on Tuesday 14 February

To enter for a place in the exhibition - create your account online (see link below to RA website), pay your entry fee, then enter the details and upload images of your artwork

You can enter one or two works, for a fee of £38 per work, which covers administration costs. You can pay this online by credit or debit card. Please note that the number entries is capped at 16,500, so please purchase yours soon in order to avoid disappointment.
