We are a society of artists living working and studying in Leicestershire and Rutland. Our members represent many perspectives on art and are all practising visual artists. We are committed to sharing and developing individual and original art.

We are artist-led and do not receive funding. We rely on the support of our members and our exhibition sponsors.

Our exhibitions are in the heart of Leicester at New Walk Museum & Art Gallery.  In our annual exhibitions you will find art shown for the first time in Leicester and you can discover new directions in our second themed exhibition.

From exhibitions to lectures and artists' talks, our Council of members create our themes and install our shows.  We have twelve Council members, each elected for a three year term, and each year four Council members are replaced, so that we benefit from both experience and new ideas.

Anyone living working or studying in Leicestershire or Rutland or with a strong connection to this area can apply for membership of Leicester Society of Artists.
