A safe place, my practice explores the fragility and decay of human impermanence. Working with found objects and textiles, layering narrative, I allow myself to feel the personal trauma of losing both breasts to cancer and sepsis, not once but twice! (trust me, it is possible) and the ongoing trauma of my family's BRCA gene.
The pieces on this page are part of the body of work, following my residency with Leicester Hospitals Trust. Here I had the opportunity to immerse myself in the liminal spaces and sounds of the hospitals. The pieces explore the hospitals from the perspective of staff, patients and my own lived experience.
