Tazim Hamid is an award-winning visual artist. Born in Nairobi, Kenya, and now based in Leicester, her art transcends boundaries, inviting viewers into a world of instinctual creativity.
Tazim’s artistic path is unconventional and intuitive. Growing up, she explored photography, textiles, and food, but it was her fascination with fabric, patterns, and embroidery that ignited her passion. Breaking free from formal constraints, Tazim has since experimented with blending acrylics, textiles, and found objects.
Nairobi’s vibrant streets and Leicester’s multicultural milieu shape Tazim’s work as well as her North Indian heritage. Her pieces reflect her multicultural upbringing and fascination with nature, architecture, and colour.
Tazim Hamid is based in StudionAme, Leicester.
